Introducing the PBS Keycap Profile

The PBS (Penguin Belly Slide) keycap profile is a new uniform design developed by Matt3o, aiming to enhance typing comfort and ergonomics.

Design and Ergonomics

PBS features a medium-low height, approximately 7mm at its tallest point. The keycap surface combines cylindrical fronts and backs with a spherical top scoop, resulting in a wide, comfortable contact area for fingers. This design offers improved ergonomics over other uniform profiles like DSA and XDA.

Material and Manufacturing

In collaboration with Keyreative, known for their KAM and KAT profiles, PBS keycaps are produced using high-quality PBT plastic. They are available in both dye-sublimated and reverse dye-sublimated legends, with options for concave and convex keycaps to accommodate various typing preferences.

Availability

PBS keycaps are available through CannonKeys and various international proxies, including iLumkb in Singapore. Initial offerings include blank keycap sets in warm white, black, and beige, with upcoming themed sets like PBS BoB (Black on Black), Aperture Priority, MV Classic, Strawberry Milk, and Galaxy.
